GeologicAI's Grant Sanden Selected as Endeavor Entrepreneur at the 67th Virtual International Selection Panel
Endeavor Entrepreneur · ISP #67 · Calgary, AB

Co-Founder and CEO of GeologicAI recognized for building a real-time geological intelligence platform transforming how the world's largest miners make decisions.

Endeavor Canada is excited to announce that Grant Sanden, Co-Founder and CEO of GeologicAI, has been selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur at Endeavor's 67th Virtual International Selection Panel.

This milestone recognizes Grant's leadership and the scale and impact of GeologicAI, a Calgary-based integrated hardware, software, and services platform that gives mining companies the real-time geological data they need to decide where to dig, how to dig, and what an asset is worth.

Founded as Enersoft in Calgary in 2013 and pivoting to mineral mining in 2021, GeologicAI has grown revenue 8× since that pivot and counts Rio Tinto, BHP, Freeport-McMoRan, Anglo American, and Newmont among its customers. BHP Ventures and Rio Tinto co-invested in the company's $44M Series B in August 2025, an alignment that is unusual in mining services: two of the world's three largest miners are simultaneously customers, shareholders, and observer-board participants.

Mining makes billion-dollar decisions on remarkably thin information. Drill core is shipped to off-site labs and logged by hand. Grade assays take six to ten days; verification assays can take months. By one GeologicAI customer's accounting, every idle day waiting for lab results costs $77,000 in foregone production.

That bottleneck is colliding with a supply crisis. The IEA projects mined copper will fall 30% short of demand by 2035 as AI data centres, EVs, and battery storage scale. Only 14 new copper deposits have been discovered in the past decade, and new mines now average 17 years from discovery to first production. The world needs more critical minerals, faster than legacy workflows can deliver.

GeologicAI is built to close that gap. Its robotic Digital Core Table sits at the drill site and runs every metre of core through six sensors simultaneously — hyperspectral, X-ray fluorescence, LiDAR, RGB, laser profiling, and magnetic susceptibility — with results back in under 24 hours. The table handles every metre identically and is AI-orchestrated for path planning and consistency, replacing the subjectivity of manual logging with a continuous, quality-assured record of the rock itself. Competing on-site systems typically run one or two sensors. Combined with machine-learning models trained on years of multi-sensor scans, this produces an order-of-magnitude increase in the rock data a mine has to work with.

The platform does not end at the rig. Scan output flows directly into the company's Resource Modeling Solutions software — the resource models and mine plans operators actually run on — collapsing a months-long handoff between geologists, modellers, and planners into a continuous workflow. Mines plan against the full picture of an orebody, move from drilling to decision in days, and target work precisely enough to cut waste and environmental footprint per ton of metal produced.

The inflection point is here. GeologicAI's scanners are deployed on five continents, with BHP and Rio Tinto among its strategic investors and commercial customers. The next decade of compounding value — better discoveries, faster development, lower environmental cost per ton of critical mineral — is what the company is now built to capture.

Grant (second from the left) celebrating with the Endeavor Canada community in Calgary after successfully advancing from his Local Selection Panel in July 2024.
Grant represents something rare: a founder who came up through the industry he is now transforming. His engineering background and fifteen years in resource extraction gave him both the credibility to walk into rooms with the world's largest miners and the clarity to see what they were missing. Through GeologicAI, he is compressing information loops that have defined and constrained mining for generations. His combination of domain authority, technological ambition, and willingness to learn from his peers and teach the next generation of founders is exactly what Endeavor's network is built to accelerate.
Kristjan Sigurdson Managing Director, Endeavor Canada

Grant's path into entrepreneurship began at the University of Calgary, where he trained as a mechanical engineer. After 15 years in the oil and gas industry — including roles at Imperial Oil and leading his own firm valuing oil-sands acquisitions globally — he observed a structural gap: the same billion-dollar capital decisions being made in mining were driven by technology a decade behind that of the oil industry. That observation became the foundation for GeologicAI, which he co-founded alongside Yannai Segal.

Over the course of GeologicAI's Endeavor selection journey, Grant engaged deeply with Endeavor's Canadian and global networks, working through curated conversations and sessions with experienced founders, investors, and operators. That process culminated at Endeavor's 67th Virtual International Selection Panel, where Grant presented GeologicAI's vision and was selected to join the network.
